Our Program Merges Nursing & Rehabilitation
I-CARE Inc. Personal Care Aide Training Program is a 40-hour online course with 6 hours of in-person skills training at our school by our Nursing and Physical Therapy Team. Our unique Personal Care Aide program merges nursing and physical therapy training and techniques by state licensed clinicians.
After successful completion of the program, students will be tested by a registered nurse and then receive a certificate of completion as a Personal Care Aide.
With the Personal Care Aide Certifications, graduates are able to work in the state of Virginia and have the training necessary to work in healthcare by providing custodial care for patients in the home.
Our Innovative Skills Training Lab
In nurse aide education one of the most innovative ways of learning and teaching our adult learners is simulation which puts your learner in the action in a real-life experience. We have a space that looks like a patient’s room. This allows our students to learn what it is really like to be in a client’s home. We have easy chairs, hospital beds, and things that can be a distraction or a barrier to getting patients up and out of bed. It allows our students to have that opportunity to work through some of those obstacles they may experience as they are caring for their clients. It’s one thing to teach something in a classroom, it creates an even better learning experience, when you can practice what you have learned in a realistic situation. We are really excited about this space for our students!
